Rain Postpones Game to Thursday

Blowie reacts to a sudden clap of thunder
It just wasn't meant to be.
After losing to Fayetteville and Florence for the first two games of their homestand, Columbia led the Wilson Tobs 1-0 in the middle of the 3rd when Mother Nature decided to intervene.
A torrential downpour flooded the field and caused the postponement of the game until Thursday night.
The Blowfish scored in the third after Richard Mounce reached first on an error by Wilson second baseman Aaron Watkins. Matt Williams was then hit by a pitch from Wilson starter Jeff Brown, and Jim Rider followed with a single to left. Wilson left fielder Justin Vazquez overplayed the ball, which then rolled through a gate in left center field for a ground rule double.
The two teams will continue Monday's game on Thursday at 6:05. Shawn Glover will be batting for Columbia to start the bottom of the 3rd. Following that game's conclusion, the two teams will play a seven inning game a half-hour later.
Fans who attended Monday's game can receive a free ticket by showing their ticket stub at the Capital City Stadium Box Office.
