    "Media Softball All Stars Opponent Announced"

    SC JETS GIRLS 18 & UNDER WILL TAKE ON COLUMBIA MEDIA All STARS
    Saturday August 1st At The Cap is 'MEDIA APPRECIATION DAY"
    Fundraiser Set To Help Raise Money for Girls Softball Program     
     
    Bill Shanahan, President/Owner of the Columbia Blowfish announced  the Columbia Media All Star Softball Team will take on the SC Jets Girls 18 & Under Softball Team on Saturday August 1st before the Blowfish game.

    " I saw the SC Jets on TV a couple of weeks ago and they have a heckuva softball program for the girls from the age 8 and up." The SC Jets look to be a fierce competitor for the Columbia Media All Stars. Shanahan proclaimed Saturday August 1st "MEDIA APPRECIATION DAY". a special day for all media  from Television, Radio, Newspaper, and Internet. An exhibition media softball game will take place beginning at 5:30pm. Gates open at 5pm. Following the softball game, the Blowfish take on the Wilson Tobs at 7:05pm in Coastal Plain League Action.

    The SC Jets Fastpitch softball organization located in the Cayce/West Columbia area and is the largest girls fastpitch softball organization in South Carolina and was developed to start training girls 6 to 18 including  8 & under, 10 & under, 12 & Under, 14 & under to have the skills and ability to compete at the high school level. At the ages of 16u and 18u the Jets train to produce the highest level of  talent and possible and showcase the player's ability for college scouting and  recruiting.

    The SC Jets have over 70 girls participating in this exceptional program.
    The Girls will be selling tickets to help raise much needed funds for their teams. " This is a great way to help build awareness and raise some money for this great group of athletes" Shanahan said. " I have been assured the girls will slow down their fastballs for the Media All Stars".


    In addition to the media softball game, Capital City Stadium will host a Michael Jackson Tribute with every song played during the Blowfish game will be from Michael's Greatest Hits. Blowie will also perform with his dance rendition  to "Beat It".

    The Blowfish return home Wednesday July 22nd night taking on the Wilson Tobs. Its Discount Beverage Night- $1.00 Suds and Sodas from 6-8pm. Gametime is 7:05pm/gates open at 6pm. Tickets are just $5.00 for Adults..$4.00 for kids, students & military with i.d.
